Unconventional Concepts Inc. and Lion Claw Tactical Announce National Strategic Symposium on Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, Radiological and Explosive (CBNRE) Threats.

NORFOLK, Va., April 21--Unconventional Concepts, Inc. (UCI), a defense and homeland security consulting firm, and Lion Claw Tactical (LCT), a law enforcement First Responder and Tactical Responder training company, have announced they will conduct an interactive National Strategic Symposium on Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, Radiological and Explosive (CBNRE) threats in Norfolk on June 1-3.

A spokesman for UCI, based in Mary Esther, FL., and LCT, of Norfolk, said the event will address topics including: Demystifying the threat of CBNRE; Planning Considerations; Incident Management; Personal Protective Equipment, and Evidence Preservation.

“A special section will focus on the dynamic differences between CBNRE threats,” said Mike Malone, UCI director of civil-military integration.  Malone said that the symposium, which is open to members of the press, will offer participants valuable insights into "how current national response planning does not significantly differentiate between the various CBNRE threats, when in fact, each one requires substantially different responses."

Unconventional Concepts, Inc., a support contractor for the homeland security advanced concept test demonstration (ACTD) sponsored by the U.S. Northern Command, also serves as a science advisor to the U.S. Surgeon General and to the U.S. Army Research Laboratories in Natick, Massachusetts. UCI clients include: the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the FBI, the Israeli Defense Force and the National Disaster Medical System. In addition, UCI principals have published four books as co-authors or contributors with Prentice Hall Publishing directly related to symposium topics: Understanding Terrorism and Managing the Consequences, Mass Casualty and High Impact Incidents- an Operations Guide, Terrorism Response Field Guide for Fire and EMS Organizations, and Terrorism Response Field Guide for Law Enforcement Organizations.

For further information, please contact Mike Malone at (757) 203-4893 (malone@unconventional-inc.com); to register for the event, please go to UCI's Web site, http://www.unconventional-inc.com/.
