Science Minister Beatrix Karl on Thursday said an agreement will be signed in May to expend cooperation with Russia in higher education and research.
The agreement, reached after Karl's meeting with Russian Education and Science Minister Andrei Fursenko, is particularly aimed at strengthening the exchange of researchers within the framework of bilateral projects.
There currently are already more than 50 cooperation agreements between the universities and research institutions of Russia and Austria. Russia and Austria also work together on some EU projects.
A total of 845 Russian students are studying at Austrian universities, mostly at the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
