The governments of Nicaragua and El Salvador started on Wednesday an exchange to strengthen bilateral relations and Central American integration through delegations headed by their foreign ministers.
The meeting between Foreign Minister, Samuel Santos, and his Salvadoran counterpart, Hugo Martinez, took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Managua.
In statements to the press, both officials mentioned the historic ties of friendship between the two countries, and their will to strengthen dialogue processes that tend to the common benefit within the Central American Integration System.
Santos added that they will also discuss issues relating to the general situation in Latin America and the international context.
Meanwhile, the Salvadoran Minister expressed the importance of increasing trade within the region in order to face common problems in terms of development and economic growth.
