Wilma Velasco, main official of the TSE, explained that the second round in the case of ties for presidency and vice-presidency will be on December 7.

She said it constitutes a historical deed in the history of democracy in Bolivia.

It has a great importance, not only because of the act of renovating the authorities of the country, but rather for the first time, the supra- national parliamentary representatives will be elected, the face of Bolivia in international parliamentary organizations.

Also for the first time the national citizens living in the 33 countries in which the government has diplomatic and consular presence, will make use of their right to the universal vote.

Up to the moment 85,000 Bolivians outside their borders registered to exercise the vote in the next elections.

Another important element of these elections-said Velasco-is the equity between men and women to participate in the political life of the country, and the young and disabled people will be able to figure in the electoral lists.

The general elections will be supervised by international observers coming from organizations like the Organization of American States and the European Union, among others.

She called to the members of the electoral jury to act with responsibility and attachment to their political duty, because they should make respect the decision of the voters.

Velasco regardied the vote as secret, free and obligatory - a political and democratic act, because through that process the citizens choose their future representatives in different levels.

As part of the program of the elections, the bio-metric census, the presentation by the the parties of its patrimonial balance, documents and up-to-date political program is scheduled.

The inscription of candidates closes on July 14, 90 days before the celebration of the elections, and that same day the electoral campaign begins in public acts, which will close on October 8.

The conclusion of computations for the domesticand foreign valid votes will be on October 19 and on the 22nd, the total and final count will be carried out, according to the TSE.
